With an extensive retail presence supported by an expert technical and customer orientated support network, they are focussed on continued growth and are seeking an experienced and dynamic Category Manager to join their team.

Taking ownership of your category, you will be responsible for:

  • Driving the financial success of the category with an emphasis on market share, competitive pricing and profitability
  • Selecting ranges that align with the company’s vision of leading the market in style trends, quality and value to their member groups and customers
  • Managing the relationships with suppliers to ensure exclusive/priority access to products that align with the company’s strategic goals
  • Taking ownership of the technical support for the category through active engagement with relevant internal and external stakeholders
  • Collaborating with sales and marketing teams to develop and implement success strategies across retail, and traditional advertising platforms
  • Maintain active engagement with customer needs through regular visits to retail stores across Australia.
  • Championing the culture of innovation by contributing to the continuous improvement culture of the business.

Success drivers for this role will include:

  • Category Management experience in a dynamic, high value environment, ideally in the flooring, home improvement or speciality retail sector
  • Strong knowledge of supply chain processes, pricing strategies and the ability to negotiate in a competitive environment
  • Proven commercial acumen with ownership of category P&L and sales margins
  • A laser focus on detail, excellent communication skills and a proactive, ‘’can do” attitude
  • Experience in developing marketing strategies across retail, digital and traditional media platforms
  • The willingness to listen, learn and adapt quickly to evolving situations
  • The drive to succeed and contribute in a collaborative and customer centric culture.
